How Niga Raw Popularized Dialectical Rap in Nigeria

U keje Okechukwu Edward A.K.A Mr. Raw (formerly known as Dat NIG.G.A Raw) was born in Enugu on 1 Nov. 1974 to the Family of Elder & Ezinne Michael Ukeje Ndukwe, the 3rd born and the 3rd son in a family of Eight.

His foray into the entertainment terrain did not commence proper until his secondary school days when he built up a small name as a performing artiste, seizing every opportunity to perform at every musical get-together.

His musical career took on a new and different dimension in 1992 when he started writing his own songs and formed a rap group known as THE 2 HYPE MCS with his friend Smartaman.

Some of Mr. Raw’s greatest achievement was in March 2002 when he won the Eastern leg of Benson and Hedges “Grab the Mic” competition.

Barely 3 months after in July 2002 at the Old Parade ground, Abuja…. Mr. Raw was crowned the BEST UP COMING ARTISTE in Nigeria after series of fierce rap battles with opponents from different states of the country.

In September 2002, Mr. Raw and Klint di Drunk formed a group known as DE COMEDIANZ and participated in the 1st ever STAR QUEST organized by Nigerian Breweries PLC and came 2nd.

No artiste has won more accolades and talent contests in a short spell than Mr. Raw who is so proud of his tribe which is the reason why he raps in Igbo Language and is also proud of being a TRUE SON of Abia State to a point that he practically shouts “ABIA” in all his songs.

Mr. Raw Nwanne is multiple award winner and by the Special Grace of the ALMIGHTY GOD, Mr. Raw Nwanne have to his credit, 4 successful Albums, namely:

Mr. Raw is married to Chinyere Ukeje and they have a son.
His hobbies are shooting pool (snooker) , listening to music and playing video games. Mr Raw is a Christian, and loves to cook too, his favorite food is pounded yam (utara) and Ofe nsala with uru anu.
